Well hello there fellow burners, it’s been a while…
Off the back of having a gap year as we chilled out and took the time needed to reset and reinvigorate our imaginations, it’s time to dust off the cobwebs and fire up the engines.
We are extremely excited to announce that Modifyre is happening this year! With a newfound energy to compliment our newfound site! We know we’re a little late announcing but we’ve been busy bees securing a new place to call home (more on that below!).
Modifyre 2023 will be held from Wed 5 July to Mon 10 July 2023.
Tickets will be capped at 400 participants so make sure you secure your magical spot. More details will be coming soon so be sure to watch the website or socials for updates.
We have moved!
That’s right, it’s time to redirect our mail…
It is with great pleasure that we can notify our community of a new site for future events, and there is one special member of our community to thank for this.
Kellie Brooks (or fondly known as Kitchen Kellie) has recently bought a pocket of land approximately 4.5 hours from Brisbane, set amongst a beautiful part of the country. She has gifted us the use of it for Modifyre for this year and well into the future!
This is truly a beautiful gesture. Having a place to call home opens up many possibilities for our community, giving us the opportunity to really plant some roots and sow seeds that will embed ourselves into our new home for years to come.
With rolling plains and kangaroos roaming wild, our new site is beautiful and we can’t wait to put our energy into the land to make it even better. Having a secure home will allow us to truly connect with the country and explore possibilities that wouldn’t otherwise be available to us.
On behalf of BURN Arts Inc., the Modifyre production team and the wider community, a huge thank you goes to Kitchen Kellie for providing the community with this space.
But that’s not the only thing that’s changed…
NEW SITE, NEW US everyone!
With a new site comes new opportunities. After a year off there has been some time for reflection on how we want to run our gathering.
Whether you're an old flame; new and interested in hearing what this whole ‘burn’ thing is about; for want to put a theme camp together; we encourage you to come along to our first Hive meeting on Thursday 9 March 2023 (formerly known as Event Production meetings) where you’ll hear all about our new site and plan for this year.
Watch this space!
More to come (very) soon…
With our new home finally locked in, we expect tickets to go on sale in March, together with applications for art, theme camps and volunteering.
Keep an eye out on our website and social media for updates as, and when, they come available.
We’re really looking forward to having you come check out our new home in 2023 and hope you’re as excited as us to warm the place up!
Burn bright beautiful peeps.
Much love
The Modifyre Hive
P.S. BURN Arts AGM is happening soon…
BURN Arts Inc. invites you to join us for the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
Burn Arts Inc. is the governing body of Modifyre. As well as being responsible for supporting production of the event they aim to nurture art, projects and community participation in events all year round.
Come along to get an update on what we’ve been up to and help us define the future of BURN Arts Inc. for the years to come. Cast your vote for the committee members who will carry the torch for the year ahead.
There’s also plenty of other ways you can get involved to contribute towards the direction and future of the organisation. If you have a knack for governance and a passion for arts then please get in touch with leo@modifyre.org to chat more and grab a nomination form.
